At age 6 years I started to learn to play the Piano. I have been writing music for as long as I can remember. My dad would have preferred me to study law or medicine, but there was only one thing I wanted to do!
I was educated at Stockport Grammar School where I won the Old Stopfordian's Lodge Music Prize. During this time I studied piano with David Smith at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
My studies continued at Colchester Institute. Here I won the Canon Jack award for Piano, studying with Robert Bell, and my compositions began to be featured in concerts, studying with Alan Bullard.
I'm also a rocker, so I was a founder member of Mystery Machine (on keyboards) which played in South Manchester during 1988/1989. Our favourite songs included "Spirit Of Freedom" and "Three Years On".

Later in 1989, whilst living in South West London, I joined Zeecooler which later evolved into Renegade Stripe. Popular songs included "Make Me Smile", "Rain Song", "Hard To Be Good" and the Led Zeppelin-esque ballad, "Watercloud".

Nowadays I play keyboards in The Beavers, the famous South Manchester rock band playing classic 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's covers. More information and photos are also on my Beavers page.

Also, I have released various solo recordings of my own songs, such as "Distraction" and "World Of My Own".
I have written music for cable television, local and hospital radio, company promotional videos, schools and web sites.

My great love is writing and arranging short instrumental music for both piano and studio work, examples of which you can listen to here.
