Drivers puzzled by common road signs

A study by Co-operative Young Driver Insurance revealed that one in five drivers believe the national speed limit sign means no access, while more than one in three (36%) did not recognise the ‘no stopping’ sign. In fact, 22% thought the sign referred to weight restrictions and 10% confused it with the national speed limit sign.

However, worryingly, four in ten drivers did not correctly name the ‘no motor vehicles’ sign, with 34% believing that it meant ‘only motor vehicles allowed’.
